Flame retardant resin composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide a flame retardant resin composition having excellent mechanical properties, composed of a specific aromatic polyester copolymer, a polyamide, an aromatic halogen compound, and a specific metal compound. CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of (A) 20W78wt% of an aromatic polyester copolymer derived from (a) a mixture of terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid or their functional derivatives (molar ratio of the terephthalic group to the isophthalic group is 9:1W1:9) and (b) a bisphenol of formula (X is O, S, SO 2 , CO, alkylene, alkylidene; R 1W4 , R' 1W4 are H, hydrocarbon group), (B) 2W78wt% of a polyamide having a relative viscosity of ≥2 measured in 96% H 2 SO 4 at 25°C and at a concentration of 1g/100cc, (C) 0.5W40wt%, pref. 2W30wt% of an aromatic halogen compound, and (D) 0.1W25 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of (A)+(B)+(C), of a compound of a metal selected from the group of IVB, IB, IIB, IIIA, IVA and VA of the periodic table.
