Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the same performance as a conventional four-division system by dividing the aperture of the antenna in a monopulse antenna into two. CONSTITUTION:The array aperture of a face-shaped slot array antenna is divided into two so that divided parts may be symmetric with respect to a face approximately, and small arrays1 and 3 are provided. Non-resonance-type waveguide slot antennas 7 and 8 are element arrays forming small antennas 1 and 3 and feeding point 5 at one end have the other end subjected to resistive termination 10. By his constitution, the antenna radiation characteristic at the time when power is fed orm the sum and the difference channels of hybrid circuit 6 is near the main beam of the antenna and is the function of the radiatin directivity when small arrays 1 and 3 are excited independently. Then, when monopulse receiving is performed, components having the same phase as the sum channel output in the difference channel output are in a XY face, and pi/2-phase shifted components are in a face intersecting to the main beam of small arrays 1 and 3, and both components correspond to two difference channels dependent upon the monopulse antenna of the aperture four-dicision system.
