Abstract PURPOSE: To attenuate the light power of a photo transmission path continuously without using any polarizing plate and without any transmission insertion loss by mounting refractive index distribution type lenses to the ends of incident side and exit side optical fibers, providing a diaphragm between both lenses and adjusting the opening of the diaphragm.
