Abstract PURPOSE: A coating composed of a methylol melamine resin and a specific polyvalent alcohol is coated on the surface of transparent substrates and is cured so as to leave hydroxyl group at a specific ratio to form transparent coating films having good resistance to scuffing and fogging.
