Abstract PURPOSE: To enhance precision of gap and decrease deterioration of magnetic characteristic caused by residual stress strain in preparation of VTR magnetic head by using a glass for the rear gap face having a lower melting point than the front glass and effecting heating and pressurization at a low melting point temperature.
