Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To remove the orientation caused by Si eutectic cell or Si primary crystal grain with resulting improvement in toughness in every directions by subjecting Al-Si alloy ingot, after undergoing plastic deformation at a temperature not lower than a prescribed temperature, to an upset plastic deformation at a prescribed reduction ratio.
