Abstract PURPOSE: To provide a paper feed mechanism, in which a lowering mechanism for a paper feed roller and a rasing mechanism for a cassette are eliminated to simplify the construction by smoothing and ensuring the feed of sheets of paper one by one while maintaining the paper feed pressure at a constant level.
