Acceleration detector
Abstract
(57) [Summary] [Purpose] A fault is judged that the output characteristics of the detection coil have changed with respect to acceleration. [Structure] When an exciting current is passed through the primary coils 6 and 7 of the bobbins 3 and 4, respective detection outputs are output from the secondary coils 8 and 9. When acceleration is applied to the acceleration detector mechanism unit 1, the movable magnetic body 14 moves, and a difference occurs in the detection output of each of the secondary coils 8 and 9. This difference indicates the acceleration. Here, when a predetermined exciting current is applied to the diagnostic coil 11, if the movable magnetic body 14 moves by a moving amount corresponding to the exciting current, a predetermined difference occurs between the detection outputs of the secondary coils 8 and 9. Since the acceleration of is indicated, it can be determined that no failure has occurred in the acceleration detector mechanism unit 1. If the movable magnetic body 14 does not move by the amount of movement corresponding to the exciting current, the acceleration indicated by the difference between the detection outputs of the secondary coils 8 and 9 deviates from the predetermined acceleration. It can be determined that a failure has occurred in 1.
