Cosmetic for hair and skin

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a hair and skin cosmetic containing a specific amount of a complex of lanolin and urea as an active component and effective for improving the abrasion breakage strength of hair, suppressing the hair breakage caused by the friction in brushing, improving chapped skin and protecting the skin. CONSTITUTION:This cosmetic for hair and skin contains 1-60wt.% (preferably 5-40wt.%) of a lanolin-urea complex obtained e.g. by heating and boiling anhydrous lanolin and urea in methanol, stirring, cooling and leaving standing the mixture, adding cold ether and filtering the precipitate. This cosmetic improves the abrasion breakage strength of hair, suppresses the hair breakage caused by the friction in brushing, improves chapped skin such as rough skin, hand and lip and protects healthy hair and skin.
