Dye thermal transfer image receiving sheet
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the concentration nonuniformity and to increase the image concentration of an image receiving sheet for a dye thermal transcription type printer by laminating more than one thermoplastic covering layer and image receiving layer on a base paper sheet of cellulose pulp. CONSTITUTION:A resin covering layer of a thermoplastic resin such as polyethylene as a main component is laminated at least on one side of a base paper sheet made mainly of cellulose pulp. The lamination is carried out by extrusion, repeated several times, or by coextrusion. In this process, the combination of polyethylene and polypropylene is effective to prevent the concentration nonuniformity of the layer. An image receiving layer which receives a dye for thermal transcription is formed on the resin covering layer. The image receiving layer, which is prepared from a resin with a good dyeing property and a high transcription speed, is laminated to a thickness of 1-10mum.
