Wheel drive mechanism of human powered vehicle

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide an easy and space-saving wheel driving mechanism for manual traveling vehicle with less energy loss. CONSTITUTION:Moving side pulleys 9, 10 are provided on oscillating ends of lateral pedals 8a, 8b. A frame 1 has a fixed side pulley 11 and a support part 12 for wire top fixation, a guide pulley 13 is provided in the support position of each pedal 8a, 8b, and driving side pulleys 14a, 14b provided with one-way clutches are provided on lateral independent driving shafts 5a, 5b. A support pulley 15 is mounted on the rear end side of the frame 1. One wire 16 is laid between the moving side pulleys 9, 10 and the fixed side pulley 11 from each support part 12 with both ends being fixed to the lateral support parts 12, and the middle part is supported by the support pulley 15. Thus, the positive rotation by the oscillation of the pedals 8a, 8b is transmitted to rear wheels 6a, 6b.
