Abstract

(57) [Summary] [Object] To provide an improved occlusive material for percutaneous transluminal repair of heart and blood vessel septum defects. The device comprises first and second expandable closures secured to one another, each closure including a framework having a central hub with elongate struts extending radially therefrom. The strut is configured to withstand fatigue exceeding the maximum fatigue stress that the strut experiences in vivo for a long period of time. In this way, the device is highly unlikely to experience metal fatigue failure even after prolonged exposure in vivo. [Effect] By using the occluding material of the present invention, the stress applied to the device can be reduced and / or evenly distributed, and a heart or blood vessel defect can be repaired.
