Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To indicate an intuitive image and objective data by outputting handwritten numerical data as an intuitively understandable graph and, at the same time, selecting the kind of the graph in accordance with the data. CONSTITUTION:This picture producing device is provided with a scanner 102, A/D- converting section 103, frame line recognizing section 106, character segmenting section 107, OCR section 105, numeral calculating section 111, picture drawing section, printing section 115, etc., and recognizes characters handwritten on a slip original in such a way that the device recognizes frame lines from picture data obtained by reading the slip original, separates a character section from the frame lines, and recognizes separated characters. In addition, the picture producing device displays the recognized results on a displaying means 120, performs numerical calculation in accordance with the recognized results after correcting th recognized results, if necessary, and expresses the recognized content as a graph on the basis of the calculated results. The picture producing device also extracts such describing elements as the title of the slip original, name of the item, unit, etc., from the read picture data and prints the extracted title, name, etc., and recognized content after synthesizing the data with the above drawn graph. Therefore, the labor and time can be saved and business work can be processed quickly.
