System for managing knowledge base of maintenance work supporting system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the overhead time required for updating a knowledge base by updating the data regarding the component of the knowledge base stored in an external storage device the content of a maintenance work procedure. CONSTITUTION:A knowledge base managing device 4 is added to a maintenance work supporting system constituted of an external storage device 3, inference device 2, and input-output device 1 and, by means of the device 4, data related to equipment names, equipment numbers, contents of a status changing requests to equipment in the maintenance work procedure prepared by the device 2 are extracted and the data are updated after the knowledge base of the device 3 is retrieved for the data item only. Therefore, the overhead time required for updating data can be reduced, because the knowledge base of the external storage device 3 is only updated on the data to be updated.
