Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To discriminate a connection line only with a line signal by turning on/off a line voltage with different number of times from every kind of communication line sides at every kind of communication lines, while, discriminating a connected communication channel by the number of times of turning on/off of the line voltage by detecting at a communication equipment side. CONSTITUTION:Facsimile equipment 1 performs communication by directly connecting to an ordinary telephone circuit, and in addition, performs the communication on a mobile telephone circuit, and performs the communication on the telephone circuit via an acoustic coupler device 6. When a line loop current is made flow from an interface device 5 and the acoustic coupler 6 to a facsimile equipment 1 side, a pulse current is made flow by continuing the loop current intermittently for the constant number of times set in advance. Also, the facsimile equipment 1 detects the pulse current, and when no pulse is present thereon, it is judged as the ordinary telephone circuit and when the pulse is present, it is discriminated whether it is a mobile telephone set or the acoustic coupler. Thereby, it is possible to discriminate the connection line only by the line signal.
