Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To save power consumption by utilizing a function of a paging system so as to apply a power supply for a radio telephone set automatically thereby interrupting the power supply when no call is estimated. CONSTITUTION:A call from a public line subscriber 20 is connected to a radio telephone exchange 6 via a public line exchange 19, the call is held and a paging call is requested to a paging control center 25 to await the arrival of a position registration signal from a radio telephone set 1. The paging control center 25 allows a pager base station to make paging call and calls a pager function section 11 of the radio telephone set 1, a switch 9 is closed, a main power supply 13 is connected to a telephone set circuit 10, which sends a position registration signal according to the tracking procedure to register the position. Then the holding is released and the radio telephone set 1 is called to make line connection. Thus, when it is estimated that no call comes, the power supply is interrupted and the power consumption is saved.
