Preparation of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet with a minimum use amount of N2 gas and enhanced productivity by immersing in water a base, one side of which has a photopolymerizable composition layer, followed by irradiation with light for polymerization. CONSTITUTION:A base 1 is supplied to the outer periphery of a belt 35 hanging down between a roll 31 which is partially immersed in water and another roll 31 which is fully immersed in water. Then the base is introduced into a coating apparatus 2, where a photopolymerizable composition is applied on one side thereof to provide a photopolymerizable composition layer. The base 1 is then introduced into water 41 in a water tank 4 along the outer periphery of the belt 35. The photopolymerizable layer is then irradiated, through a wall 5, with a UV ray emitted from a UV lamp, whereby photopolymerization takes place. At the same time, the tape 1 is cooled in water 41, and excessive water adhering to the tape is removed by a draining nozzle 7. The tape 1 is then dried in a water content adjusting box 8.
