Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the characteristics of cycle and high temperature preservation at a lithium secondary battery by using a predetermined material for its positive pole active material. CONSTITUTION:A specific material is used as a positive pole active material for a secondary battery consisting of the negative pole made up of lithium or a lithium compound, a non-hydro electrolyte containing lithium chloride, and the positive pole. This specific material is the one in which, at a formula expressed with LiCo(1-x)MnxO2, Co and Mn exist in a fully solid melting condition with an LiCoO2 crystal structure kept intact at the sphere of 0.02<=x<=0.35. As a result, crystal stability under a charging condition is increased, and a cycle characteristic and a high temperature preservation characteristic at the time of charging are improved.
