Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To eliminate variation in select voltage level and to suppress an irregularity in brightness by finding the quantities of variation in liquid crystal cell applied voltage level depending upon a display pattern by lines and adding a correcting voltage to driving voltages of scanning and data electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal panel controller 26 sends X data to a correction parameter generating circuit 27 simultaneously with a data electrode driver 21 and the output of a data latch circuit 271 is ANDed with a data clock signal; only when the X data is ON, the data is outputted and counted by a counter 273, whose output is sent out as a correction parameter. Then the parameter is converted by a D/A converter 28 into the correcting voltage, which is outputted. Then circuit 291 - 293 of a correcting voltage adding circuit 29 are applied with the select voltage V and nonselect voltage (1-2/a)V of the data electrodes and the nonselect voltage (1-1/a)V of the scanning electrodes and circuits 294 - 295 are applied with 0, (2/a)V, and (1/a)V in the opposite order to make corrections.
