Device having color filter and manufacture thereof

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To embody peak part coatings which withstand a spacer pressure and obviate the occurrence of waving and ruggedness by providing the device with an acrylic resin formed with the peak part coatings and gradually decreasing the thickness at its ends. CONSTITUTION: The device 1 is provided with the acrylic resin formed with its peak part coatings 5 and the thickness thereof is gradually decreased by at least one of its ends. Namely, the color filters 3 consist of the polymerizable acrylic resin and have the peak part coatings 5 of the thicknesses gradually decreasing at an inclination of <=5 deg. in the regions of the ends. The thickness of the peak part coatings 5 decrease with the inclination of preferably <=30 deg. at their ends. At the time of production, the substrate is cleaned and thereafter, the regions of the color filters 3 are provided with the peak part coating materials and the peak part coatings 5 are molded by irradiation with UV after patterning.
