Lead-acid battery

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To restrain the temperature rise of a battery and enhance the life performance of the battery by providing a space layer between a heat insulating member composed mainly of heat resistant synthetic resin or rubber or fiber, and a battery jar. CONSTITUTION:A space layer 2 is provided between a heat insulating member 1 made from polyethylene foam and a battery 3. In addition to polyethylene foam, various kinds of resin plates, rubberlike sponge, heat resistant synthetic fiber, glass fiber and the like may be used as the material from which the heat insulating member 1 is made. The temperature rise of a lead-storage battery under high-temperature condition can thus be prevented and also the life performance of the lead-acid battery can be enhanced.
