Packaging material
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a packaging material excellent in bio-degradability, flexibility, processability, strength, heat resistance, etc., by mixing a polyhydroxyalkanoate polymer with a specified amount of a lipid compound and a resin and molding the resulting mixture. CONSTITUTION:A base comprising a polyhydroxyalkanoate or its copolymer (e.g. 3-hydroxybutyrate/3-hydroxypropionate copolymer) or a mixture thereof is mixed with 0.01-60wt.% lipid compound (e.g. glycerol triacetate). The obtained biodegradable composition is mixed with 1-70wt.% resin (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate). The obtained resin composition is molded into a packaging material in the form of a sheet, a bag, a cup or the like. This packaging material can be biodegraded within a short time even when it is left standing in an atmosphere after being used, so that it does not cause environmental pollution.
