Additional record control processing system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To specify the effective range of a precedently added record by setting up an EOF 2 in an open processing part, and at the time of open processing, equally setting up the EOF 2 and EOF 1 in accordance with the specification of a program. CONSTITUTION:The open processing part 4 extracts the EOF 1 and EOF 2 from a file attribute control list 10 and compares them with each other. When both the EOFs are equal, the open processing part 4 executes normal open processing, but they are different from each other, sets up the EOF 2 in accordance with the specification of the program 12. When the program specifies EOF 1 = EOF 2, the EOF 2 is set up equally to the EOF 1. Thus, whether the effective range is to be extended up to the record EOF 1 added by the preceding processing or returned to the opened EOF 2 can be selected at the time of opening a sequential file 11.
