Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a picture free of irregular density by permitting a carrier to hold toner based on a constant toner pressure in a containing part. CONSTITUTION:In the developing device 20, a regulating member 22 and a sealing member 23 are brought into contact with a roller 21, which faces a rotational body 27 with a prescribed gap between them, the leading edge of a scraper 25 is brought into press-contact with a feed roller 24, the scraper 25 scrapes carried toner into the containing part 26 to cause it stick to the outer periphery of the roller 21. Therefore, the toner held on the outer periphery of the roller 21 is charged at the contact part of the regulating member 22, and is carried to the part which faces the rotational body 27. Where the rotational body 27 is a photosensitive body, the charged toner is fed to an electrostatic latent image formed on the surface. If the rotational body 27 faces the photosensitive body, and is a developing roller which holds carriers on its outer periphery, the charged toner is scraped by carriers to be fed to the developing roller, the carriers and toner are mixed together, and the electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive body is developed with the adjusted two-component developer.
