Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent miscontrol due to oxygen amount generated by inclusion of the pressure air from a compressor into the exhaust gas by furnishing a means to interrupt the operation of a control system using a signal from an oxygen sensor when the suction and exhaust systems are in communication. CONSTITUTION:The amount of air fed to engine is lesser under low-speed high load operation because the engine 1 remains in low speed, and a valve 51 is opened for preventing attainment of the surge line, and the control system for the air-fuel ratio due to an oxygen sensor 15 is made in open loop, and part of the pressure air of compressor 22 is led to the exhaust system via a shortcircuiting flow path 5. Now the rate of air flow of the compressor 22 increases, and the revolving speed rises without reaching the surge line, and the supercharge activity becomes better, and the rise of the boost pressure is conducted. Therein the open loop of the control system due to the oxygen sensor 15 is not put in the rich fuel condition because adjustment of the air-fuel ratio is not made even though pressure air from the compressor 22 has intruded into the exhaust gas to cause rise of the oxygen concentration, and the proper air-fuel ratio till the time is continued.
