Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To establish synchronization quickly among lots of base stations in a wide area by transferring timing information between exchange stations to take synchronization, allowing a base station to generate a base station reference timing while taking the timing information from an exchange station as an initial value and applying the timing control of the exchange station when a delay is large. CONSTITUTION:Exchange stations 101a-101c are synchronized by receiving/ transmitting timing information to take the synchronization of the transmission time of an outgoing signal toward base stations under the control. The reference timing generating circuits 124, 125 of base stations 102a, 103a generate a base station reference timing based on the timing information transferred from the exchange stations 101a, 101b. The delay time is increased by the phase control of the base station 103a and exceeds a specified value, a control circuit 130 gives the instruction of providing a prescribed offset to the timing addition in the exchange station 101b based on a report from the base station connecting to the exchange station 101b.
