Image shade line extracting device and picture processing device using the same

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To easily obtain the shade line of an image such as a character and a graphic by generating the shade picture of prescribed picture element width in a shading direction determined beforehand to a non-image side from a changing point from an image part to a non-image part as seen in the prescribed direction of the image drawn on an original based on read picture information. CONSTITUTION:The direction to detect the changing point from the image part I to the non-image part NI is determined by relation to the shading direc tion S0. Namely in principle, processing is to detect the changing point from the image part I to the non-image part NI as seen in the shading direction, but in the case where two-dimensional picture processing in an orthogonal coordinates system is executed, for instance, in the shade line SL in the case where light shines in the direction from the upper left part to the lower right part of the image I, it is the changing point as seen from the direction S1 from left to right and the direction S2 from the upper part to the lower part, and in the shading line SL in the case where the light shines in the direction S0 from the just upper part to the just lower part of the image I, it is the changing point as seen in the direction S2 from the upper part to the lower part.
