Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent a transfer material from being peeled off a holding body by controlling the position, in which a transfer material is attracted onto the transfer material holding body, according to the detected result of a discriminating means for discriminating whether a transfer material to be used is a light transmissive sheet or not. CONSTITUTION:Transmission type preregistration sensors 50 and 51, both of which discriminate whether a transfer material is a regular paper or an OHP paper, are arranged right before a regist roller 10, and detect whether a transfer material is the regular paper or the OHP paper. When the transfer material is judged to be the OHP paper, the paper is attracted with a point Pc being its front end. As for the regular paper, when a manual detecting sensor 52 detects that the paper is of an A4 longitudinal feed size, the paper can not be attracted onto the surface B, but it is attracted onto the surface A. There fore, a CPU controls the regist roller 10 so that the paper is attracted with a point Pa being its front end; at the same time as this, the CPU sets data required for an image processing circuit so that modes for magenta, cyan, yellow, and black and outputted having the position Pa as the front end, and instructs an optical system controller and a developing device motor controller.
