Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve shift feeling by avoiding shift operation when the generation of shift shock is predicted, and conducting shift operation when no generation of shift shock is predicted, in reference to a prediction map according to the present running state. CONSTITUTION:When the present change gear ratio is found to be, for example, 3rd-speed by inspection, a prediction map is referred on the basis of the throttle opening TVO and velocity V at that time to predict the generation of shift shock when the present change gear ratio is shifted to other gear ratios. When the combination of TVO and V at that time is without a shift shock generating area, overdrive prohibition(OD prohibition) is released to allow the shift operation from the present change gear ratio to other change gear ratios, for example, 4th-speed. When the combination of TVO, V at that time is within the shift shock generating area, OD release is not carried out. Namely, as the shift operation from the present change gear ratio to other change gear ratios is prohibited, the generation of shift shock can be prevented.
