Method for driving liquid crystal display device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve image quality and reliability by impressing a modulating signal in addition to a scanning signal to scanning electrodes of TFTs and changing the magnitude of the modulating signal by the even number and odd number scanning electrodes and further reversing this relation in odd fields and even fields. CONSTITUTION:The modulating signal Vge in addition to the scanning signal voltage Vg for turning on the TFTs are impressed to scanning signal wirings. This Vge varies in the directions and amplitudes of the respective modulations in the even number scanning electrodes and the odd number scanning electrodes with Vg=0 as a center. This relation is reversed in the odd fields and the even fields. The averages of the voltages of the source electrodes and picture element electrodes to transmit the image signal Vsig and a counter electrode are equaled in this way and the impression of the DC voltage as time average in any part within the liquid crystal panel is obviated and, therefore, the liquid crystal display panel having the high reliability and high image quality which is free from the deterioration in the display quality and the seizure of the patterns is obtd.
