Fuel injection equipment of internal combustion engine

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To effectively cool a solenoid coil by forming a fuel passage in the outer periphery of a coil casing for covering the solenoid coil of a solenoid valve in an equipment where fuel is injected with high pressure air through the solenoid valve into a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection equipment 30 fitted to a cylinder head 26 of an engine 10 has a pipeline 35 to which high pressure air from engine driven compressor 34 is supplied and a pipeline 43 to which pressurized fuel from a fuel pump 41 is supplied. A designated flow of fuel is injected through a solenoid valve 54 operated by a solenoid coil 52 of a fuel injector 50 from a nozzle 55 through a fuel passage 68 into an injection nozzle 56, and simultaneously, high pressure air is supplied through an air passage 70 into the injection nozzle 56. In this case, a fuel passage 74 is formed in the outer periphery of a coil casing 73 for covering a solenoid coil 60 and communicated with the pipeline 43 through a communicating path 77 formed in a main body casing 64.
