Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enter character data directly from a wordprocessor and to attain scroll display sequentially even for a title or an explanation sentence of a long sentence over several screens by superimposing characters onto a video image over several screens and scrolling the resulting image. CONSTITUTION:Since varies a character address for each vertical synchronization gradually with respect to the horizontal synchronization in the case of horizontal direction scroll and varies a character address for each vertical synchronization gradually with respect to the vertical synchronization in the case of vertical direction scroll, a character data generated from a character generator 24 addressed while timing is gradually deviated is superimposed on the video signal in a superimposing circuit 16. Thus, the character data superimposed on the video signal is displayed with scrolling in horizontal or vertical direction on a display screen. Thus, a character data is inputted directly from a wordprocessor 20 and the data is sequentially displayed with scrolling even in the case of a title or an explanation sentence of a long sentence over several screens.
