Asynchronous transfer mode exchange system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To simplify the function of a tandem exchange and to facilitate a large capacity by setting an equipment applying call connection control not to a tandem exchange side but to a subscriber exchange side being a receiver side in a tandem line transferring an information packet from the tandem exchange to a subscriber exchange. CONSTITUTION:An asynchronous transfer mode: ATM exchange network consists of 4 sets of subscriber exchanges 1-4 and a tandem exchange 10. When a call making 2-way communication is set via the tandem exchange 10 between the subscriber exchanges 1 and 2, the call connection control between tandem lines 30 and 31 is implemented by call connection controllers 50, 51 installed in the subscriber exchanges 1, 2. Thus, the function of a tandem exchange is simplified and large capacity of the tandem exchange is facilitated.
