Method for measuring radiant heat value and heat transfer rate

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To highly accurately measure the radiant heat value and heat transfer rate of a heat source by thermally insulating the periphery of two kinds of transmission members having uniform surface temperature and respectively different emission rates so that heat can be transferred only from one direction, measuring the temperature of the members and then measuring an environmental temperature so that the measurement is not influenced by radiant heat. CONSTITUTION:Four corners of plates 20a to 20d formed by syntheric rubber are connected by wood spacers 21. Stainless-made plates 24, 25 constituting the transmission member are supported by cotton thread or the like in through holes 23a 23b formed on the center of the plate 20a so as to be separated from the peripheries of the holes 23a, 23b. In order to obtain respectively different emission rates, the plate 24 is coated with black paint, the plate 25 is not coated and thermocouples 26, 27 are stuck to the rear faces of both the plates 24, 25. Alminium foil sheets 28 for interrupting radiant heat are opposed and supported by a wood-made supporting member 29 between the plates 20b, 20c and a room temperature measuring thermocouple 30 is supported by wood thread 45 or the like between the foil sheets 28. A multiplexer inputs voltage signals from the connected thermocouples 26, 27, 30 and an arithmetic processor computes a heat transfer rate and a radiant heat source.
