Polymer-base blend composition containing modified starch
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To provide a compsn. consisting of a destructurized starch and a polymer containing vinyl ester to be a product excellent in dimensional stability and enhanced in physical characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A destructurized starch (A) and at least one kind of a polymer (B) selected from the copolymer group containing both of a vinyl alcohol unit and an aliphatic chain unit obtained by copolymerizing vinyl ester, pref., vinyl acetate and an unsaturated monomer containing no functional group and hydrolyzing the vinyl ester group of the obtained copolymer are compounded. As the component B, a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing vinyl acetate and ethylene, propylene, isobutylene and/or styrene and hydrolyzing the vinyl ester group is sued. The wt. ratio of the components A:B is set to 1:99-99:1. The components B contains 5-20% by wt. of the total amt. of the polymers of a polystyrene unit. COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
