Composite standard on-screen display unit for tv receiver having setting of position of display and method of setting position of display

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy and stability of a position setting circuit by providing the setting circuit with a microprocessor and a horizontal position circuit to be adjusted so as to start horizontal sweeping from any position out of various and different prescribed positions. CONSTITUTION: The leading edge of a horizontal flyback pulse part in a received televison(TV) signal is used for synchronizing a PLL 21 with the received TV signal and impressed to a system/mode detection circuit 22. A horizontal counter 24 supplies a dot address and a column address to a horizontal position delay circuit 26 and an MPU interface 30 and a vertical counter 25 supplies a line address and a row address to a ROM 28 and the interface 30. A vertical position delay circuit 27 receives a vertical flyback pulse from a reference TV signal, applies a delayed vertical flyback signal to the circuit 22 and the counter 25 and the ROM 28 receives a signal from the interface 30 and applies the signal to the remaining part of an OSD circuit.
