Method and apparatus for selecting server in computer network

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the using efficiency of a network resource by presenting one of servers to one of customers who request based on a network policy and a usable resource capacity by a broker. CONSTITUTION: Each server 20 presents access to several services A1 -AN for customers 11-19 who request. At the time of operation, a broker 30 receives a local policy from a storage device 42(44), process the requests of the customers 11-19 who request the service, and transmits the presentation of one or more servers 20 to the customers 11-19 according to the network policy in order to prepare data structures for each service held by the servers 20. The resources of the server 20 have various different performance, that is, small-scaled CPU size, large-scaled CPU size, usable and unusable capacity, and different serial line speed or the like. Thus, the servers 20 can be dynamically assigned to the customers.
