Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To properly perform cleaning a photosensitive body by coating a carrier contained in a magnetic brush cleaning part with a material of low surface energy on which a conductive material is dispersed. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic brush cleaning method is employed with respect to the cleaning part 7, and a magnetic carrier is contained as a cleaning powder. Then, a magnet is contained inside a cleaning roller 71 on which a positive or a negative bias is impressed, and the cleaning agent is held on the roller. Then residual toner is electrostatically attracted to the cleaning agent, carried from pump-up rollers 72 and 73 to a residual toner recovery roller 74, and removed outside through a recovery blade 76. Then, the sticking of spent toner to the magnetic carrier can be prevented since the surface of the cleaning agent in the cleaning part 7 is coated with the material of low surface energy on which the conductive material is dispersed, that is, with the material of high peeling property.
