Optical system for high-temperature measurement by using luminescence material
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To monitor the temperature of 450 deg.C or higher of a heat radiating source and temperature-dependent infrared rays by transmitting the temperature and infrared rays to a low-temperature spot by using an optical temperature sensor and an ordinary optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: A black-body temperature sensor 11 having a reflecting surface 12 is placed in the high-temperature environment 15 of a furnace, etc. Infrared rays 17 are radiated from the sensor 11. An infrared-ray absorbing body 19 is placed far from the environment 15 and substantially heated with the infrared rays only. The heat absorbing body 19 is selectively positioned at the location of a monitorable temperature range and an optical sensing material or structure 21 is positioned adjacently to the body 19. Light 27 is transmitted to a sensor 21 from a device 23 at a remote location and light 29 corrected for temperature returns to the device 23 and decoded for measuring the temperature of the sensor 21. In order to obtain a fixed relation between the measured temperature and an infrared radiating sensor 13, the device 3 directly measures the temperature of the environment 15 by performing calibration.
