Microlens array and production thereof
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve optical performance by providing a light shielding layer of the patterns nearly reverse from lens patterns on one surface of a supporting substrate thereby shield only the stray light without loss of the necessary light. CONSTITUTION:The light shielding layer 2 of the patterns nearly reverse from the lens patterns is formed of a thin Ti film of 1,000 to 2,000Angstrom on one main surface of the supporting substrate 1 made of transparent glass by a sputtering method. Al, Ni, Ta, Mo, etc., in addition to the Ti are used as the material of the light shielding layer 2. A photosensitive resin layer 3 is formed to about 2mum film thickness on this layer 2 and is irradiated with light of a mercury lamp, etc., for about one hour from the rear surface side of the substrate 1 by which the layer 3 is built-up like convex lenses to form the microlens array. As a result, stray light is decreased and contrasts is improved. The easy-to-see display is thus obtd.
