Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide a medical chair, which is easily manufactured with a low cost and is easily operated by making the backrest of the chair be controllable to be in at least three settings and when a setting comes lower than a horizontal plane, the backrest coincide with Trendelenburg's position. CONSTITUTION: A height controlling device of a seat 1, including a fluid operated cylinder 5, is connected to a base table part at one side and to a tetragonal link 6 at the other side and the same is installed inside the base table 3. The seat 1 has an angule αfrom a horizontal plane shown by a line drawn as X to X, and the seat declines downward toward a backrest 2, which is easily moved up and down as shown by arrow F1. The backrest 2 is connected by joints to the seat 1 so as to secure at least three basic positions, namely, an almost vertical, an almost horizontal and a declined downward positions from a horizontal plane. The backrest 2, especially, is controlled to be positioned within an arc of a specified circle shown by arrow F2 by a second fluid operated cylinder 8, so the backrest 2 is accurately controlled to be positioned at a prescribed position between a vertical limit position and a Trendelenburg's position which is under the horizontal plane.
