Jointed construction of ceramic superconductor and ordinary conductor
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To ensure the easy connection of a ceramic superconductor and an ordinary conductor by forming terminal parts expanded more than respective ends of the aforesaid superconductor and conductor. CONSTITUTION:A superconductor 1 comprising a ceramic superconducting material and an ordinary conductor, for example, a copper wire 2 are connected to each other via a superconductor side terminal part 3 and an ordinary conductor side terminal part 4 respectively formed at connection ends and expanded more than the ends. The sizes of both terminal parts 3 and 4, and the shape thereof are so made as to ensure a contact area suitable for the required current flow. Due to the expansion of the aforesaid contact area, contact resistance drops and it becomes easy to connect the aforesaid materials to each other. The terminal parts 3 and 4 are fitted with an emergency securing device such as a clamp and a cooling device for restraining a temperature rise due to heating, whenever necessary.
