Manufacture of polymer film
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To mold a polymer film at a high speed and continuously, by a method wherein molten thermoplastic resin is extruded on a rotary cooling drum through an extruding die, and then, at the time of cooling and solidification, cooled Al or alumina sheets are provided on both end parts of a discharge port of the molten resin. CONSTITUTION:Thermoplastic resin 4 is extruded through a die 1 by melting the same into a sheetlike state and solidified through cooling on a rotary cooling drum 2. A necking-down preventive sheet 3 is constituted of Al or alumina. The necking-down preventive sheet 3 is cooled by a cooling device 5. At that time, the necking-down preventive sheet 3 is cooled so that a temperature becomes lower than a discharge temperature of the molten thermoplastic resin by 5-20 deg.C. When the necking-down preventive sheet 3 is cooled so that the temperature falls within the temperature range, a pyrolysis matter adhering to the necking-down preventive sheet 3 becomes extremely little. Therefore, with this construction, a polymer film can be molded at a high speed and continuously.
