Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To accurately respond to an opening required by a driver by correcting a throttle opening according to the atmospheric pressure in the vicinity of an engine. CONSTITUTION:In a control unit 58, outputs of engine operating condition detecting means such as a crank angle sensor 52 and the like and an accel sensor 48 are input to a microcomputer and the microcomputer sets a reference opening of a throttle valve. In this case, a correction factor which increases as the atmospheric pressure detected by an atmospheric pressure sensor 46 decreases is determined, and the reference opening is multiplied by the correction factor to correct the atmospheric pressure. According to thus corrected opening output, a pulse motor 5 for driving the throttle valve 6 is controlled to attain such a throttle opening as to obtain the same charging efficiency both on highland and on flatland. Accordingly, regardless of the altitude where an internal combustion engine 10 is positioned, the throttle opening can be controlled to the optimum.
