Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous insertion of an unadaptable cartridge into the title reader-write and to prevent the breakage of an IC cartridge and the reader-writer by providing an unadaptable cartridge erroneous insertion preventing means. CONSTITUTION:When an adaptable IC cartridge 4, which is directed to a normal direction, is inserted from an IC cartridge inserting port 12, an erroneous insertion preventing protrusions 21 are inserted in the notches of the IC cartridge 4, and the IC cartridge 4 touches on a slope 20 of a shutter main body 18. Thus, the shutter main body 18 is energized downward, and the IC cartridge 4 can be inserted. When the IC cartridge having no notches is inserted, the inserted edge of the IC cartridge touches on the erroneous insertion preventing protrusions 21, and the shutter main body 18 is never opened.
