Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide a constant cushioning characteristic to occupants different in body weight by providing a lever for applying a load to a spring and a slidable lever means when a base means and a frame means of a suspension device are connected cushionably to each other through a mechanical spring. CONSTITUTION: A suspension device installed on a vehicle seat includes a base means 12 connected to a frame means 16 by a connection means 13. The connection means 13 is provided with links 14 and 15, and rollingly guides a roller 17 located at the upper end part of the link 14 to the underside of a flange member 16C of the frame means 16. Also the link 15 is formed so that a roller 37 installed on the lower end part is installed along the base means 12. Then a torsion bar assembly 32 deflected when a load is applied is installed on the frame means 16, and a load is applied through a roller 56 installed slidably on the link 15 and a lever 52 having a cam 54 of which base part is connected to a torsion tube 46 of the assembly 32.
