Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to separate and detect external noises and partial discharge at the outside of a cable by individually inputting pulse shaped voltage waveforms induced at both ends of the cut parts of a cable shielding layer into the input layer of neural network. CONSTITUTION:One end of a power cable 2 is connected to a transformer 1. A shielding layer 5 for the cable is cut at a point C. Detecting elements 3 and 4 are connected to both cut ends. Pulse-shaped voltage waveforms induced at points A and B at both ends of the elements 3 and 4 at both cut end parts are inputted into two input layers 10 and 20 of a neural network. The pulse- shaped voltages are compared at intermediate layers 30 and 40, and the partial discharge at a cable 2 and the partial discharge at the outside of the cable 2 and external noises are distinguished. Therefore, the external noises and the partial discharge at the outside of the cable 2 are not erroneously recognized as the partial discharge in the cable 2.
