Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To control the interval between both sprockets without moving a gear train along an interlocking shaft by arranging the gear train to the cooperation shaft on one side thereof and arranging the rotary engaging part with movable sprockets thereto on the other side thereof in a state freely movable in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:An interlocking shaft 2a has an interlocking linkage shaft part 2a on the base end side thereof and parallel shaft parts 2b formed on the leading end side thereof in a split state and, when the front and rear width dimensions of a carton D are altered, a control shaft 6a is rotated to rotate the inner gear 5c1 of an annular member 5c and each planetary gear 5b is rotated to rotate the cooperative connection shaft 2a and, with the rotation of said shaft 2a, the parallel shaft parts 2b are rotated to rotate only two drive sprockets 9, 9. As a result, only two rows of inside chains A2, A2 are advanced to change the phases of movable sprocket 4, 4 to fixed sprockets 3, 3 and only feed pawls B2, B2 are moved in the feed direction, and the front and rear width dimensions with the other feed pawls B1, B2 are changed. Therefore, the interval between both sprockets can be controlled without moving the gear train along the interlocking shaft.
