Abstract

Abstract NEW MATERIAL: An indan derivative of formula I [A is C=X (X is O, S); Y is N, N + -O - -, CR 8 ; R 1 , R 2 are H, alkyl, or put together to be polymethylene; R 3 is H, OH, alkoxy, acyloxy; R 4 is H or put together with R 3 to be single bond; when A is C=X, R 5 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, etc.; R 6 is H, alkyl, when A is single bond, R 5 , R 6 form five to seven-membered unsaturated heterocyacle with bonded N; R 7 , R 8 are H, alkyl, OH, NO 2 , CN, etc.; P is 0, 1]. EXAMPLE: Cis-1,1-dimetyl-50-nitro-3-(2-oxopyrrolidin-1-yl)indan-2-ol. USE: Having smooth muscle relaxation activity and useful for curing the diseases of respiratory tract and cardiovascular tract. PROCESS: For example, a compound of formula II is reacted with a compound of formula III to obtain a compound of formula I in which P is O and A is C=X. COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
