Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To automatically find a value of the number of line picture elements of a digital video signal by finding a first delay time at the time when a first state is varied to a second state, and a second delay time at the time when a second state is varied to a first state, and setting a search variable at the time when they are found as the number of line image elements. CONSTITUTION:A pulse train of a pixel signal is delayed successively against a clock signal, and a phase relation [P=(1)] as shown by V2 is formed forcibly. Thereafter, the pulse train of the pixel signal is further delayed, a relative delay time D is set so that a time point of a rise transition of all the pixel signals in one screen becomes a phase relation [P=(0)] shown as V3, and its value is set as a first delay time D1. Thereafter, the relative delay time D is further delayed, a value of D is set so that a time point of one rise transition of the pixel signal becomes a relation [P=(1)] of V4, and its value is set as a second delay time D2. In such a way, when D1 and D2 are derived, a value of a search variable PIXEL at that time is set as the number of image elements. Therefore, the number of line image elements of a display device can be mea sured automatically.
